Our Process
We understand the concerns our customers have about the complexities of commissioning a bespoke piece of fitted furniture. We pride ourselves on making this process as straightforward as possible for our clients, planning everything so that you only need to focus on the design input and nothing else.
Our 6-stage Contact-to-Installation process has been praised by our customers over the years. Please click on the individual stages below to see more detail about how we work.
Having discussed your idea by telephone or email, we will arrange a visit to your home. We will take accurate measurements and listen to any ideas you may have. We’ll also bring samples that may help you decide on the final finish of your proposed project.
Many of our customers find it helpful to have found images of projects similar to those they envisage from the Internet or magazines.
Whilst priding ourselves on our bespoke service, we don’t want to scare you with unlimited options. We’ll put forward suggestions and ideas, but this is really about you.
And please don’t worry about a “hard sell”. We are not visiting to force you to hire us immediately, nor will we urge you towards a particular design. We will simply be visiting to get an idea of the work you require.
Following on from our visit, we will issue you with a quotation for the works you have expressed an interest in.
With us, the price you see is the price you will pay; no hidden extras. Any deviations from the initial brief during the design phase would be discussed and priced, and would not be implemented out without your express permission.
If you are happy with the quotation we will schedule an installation date and begin the design process.
It is at this point that we would ask you to read and approve our General Terms and Conditions -

On the agreed date we will arrive to install your furniture.
We work in a completely self-contained way, asking only for the use of a few power sockets.
Any furniture that cannot be moved will be covered with dustsheets, and delicate objects moved or protected.
Throughout the installation, we prefer for someone to be available to answer any questions we may have, or to approve any minor changes. We value your input.
If required, our trusted cabinet painters will arrive to finish the piece in situ.
And finally, we will leave your home as clean and tidy as when we arrive.
You’ll be ready to enjoy your new addition to the home.
We design all of our projects in a user-friendly 3D computer package. We will not confuse you with blueprints or line diagrams.
The room(s) will be “built” to scale within the computer package, allowing you to see the installation before it’s been built. Included in our price will be the production of a “video walkthrough”, allowing you to see and experience the new installation from a variety of angles.
You can change this design as often as you want. You can feel free to suggest changes or to explore options.
Once you are happy, give us the go-ahead and we’ll begin production.
Your project will be manufactured in our York workshops using state of the art machinery and time-honoured carpentry skills. All of our craftsmen are amply qualified, with years of experience to draw on.
We will build and then dismantle the installation in our workshop so that there are no surprises on installation. We’ll gladly send you photos of the work in progress should you wish.
